The Fifty/50mm project was created as a way for me to express and challenge myself creatively. The following photos were taken with a 50mm lens and each description contains only 50 words. While this is a way for me to express myself, each photo will hopefully speak to you as well.

There is more than one way to see something. This is why you use different lenses on a camera. Start putting different lenses on your mind. See things from a new angle. People think, act, and feel differently than you. Take the time to understand them. It is worth it.

It is hard to believe the beauty in this picture was caused by raging fire in the distance. No matter what fire you are fighting in your life, try to find the beauty in it. Be the phoenix and rise from the ashes, as every end is a new beginning.

Sometimes perception is different from reality. Views from afar are not always what something looks like up close. You should always acknowledge that something might be different before you get there. Always keep an open mind to what is ahead of you, as it may not be what you expected.

It’s a shame we don’t remember the first year of our lives. You learn to crawl before you walk, get up on your own when you fall down, and go on your first careless adventures. That is why kids this age will always capture everyones attention.

Sometimes getting to the light at the end of the tunnel isn’t as easy as just following a straight line. There are obstacles along the way that make you change course and slow you down. However, taking that journey through the dark will make you appreciate the light.

So far, throughout my life, I have had a chance to meet and be impacted by some very strong women. The unique part about each of them is no matter what, they have always encouraged me to follow my dreams. I’ll never forget that. Especially from this one.

It’s a special talent to be able to lose yourself in what you are doing. To look into nothing and create something people lose their minds over. Everyone should have a peaceful way to let other people into their mind. It will make the world a better place.
